About Dr. Rohit Prasankumar, Ph.D.
Dr. Rohit Prasankumar serves as a Director of the Deep Science and Enterprise Science Funds at Intellectual Ventures (IV), where he leads efforts focused on high-temperature superconductivity and emerging research directions across complex scientific and engineering domains.
Prior to joining IV in 2022, Rohit spent nearly two decades at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies at Los Alamos National Laboratory. His research primarily focused on ultrafast optical studies of quantum materials, with more than 100 invited talks, over 100 peer-reviewed publications, and more than 5,000 citations. Rohit has edited one book, authored several book chapters, and is co-inventor on more than ten patent applications.
He is a Fellow of Optica and recipient of awards including the 2022 LANL Distinguished Postdoctoral Mentor Award and the 2023 Impact Award at Intellectual Ventures. He also holds a research associate professor appointment at the University of New Mexico.
Rohit received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and his master’s and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from MIT.
